West Bengal’s premier scheme “Lokprasar Prakalpo Scheme” provides social security and a steady source of income for Bengali folk performers. The nodal department is the West Bengal government’s Department of Information and Cultural Affairs. All folk artists between the ages of 18 and 60 will receive financial assistance or retainer fees of Rs. 1,000. Likewise, all folk artists who reach the age of 60 would receive financial assistance in the form of a pension of Rs. 1,000/-per month.

– The applicant should be a permanent resident of West Bengal or have lived here for the past 10 years. – The applicant should be a registered Folk Artist. – The minimum age of the folk artist should be 18 years.
