West Bengal Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme

Bengali folk artists can receive social security and a reliable source of income through West Bengal’s Lokprasar Prakalpo Scheme. This initiative designates the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs of the West Bengal government as the nodal department. Financial support is provided by the West Bengal government to recognized folk artists.

All folk artists between the ages of 18 and 60 will receive financial assistance or retainer fees of Rs. 1,000. Likewise, all folk artists who reach the age of 60 would receive financial assistance in the form of a pension of Rs. 1,000/-per month. Every active folk artist will receive a performance fee of Rs. 1,000/-per program.

Under the Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme, financial assistance is only available to registered folk artists. Folk artists who meet the requirements can apply for funding by completing the Application Form.

The Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme’s primary goal is to give West Bengali folk musicians social security and a steady source of income.

Benefits of the Scheme

• The folk artists of 18 years to 60 years age will get a monthly stipend of ₹1000/-.
• And, folk artists above 60 years of age will get a monthly pension of 1000 rupees.
• Actively Performing Folk Artists will receive a performance fee of Rs. 1,000/-per program.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying the Scheme

The West Bengal government has set the following eligibility requirements for the Scheme.

• The applicant should be a permanent resident of West Bengal or have lived here for the past 10 years.
• The applicant should be a registered Folk Artist.
• The minimum age of the folk artist should be 18 years.

Apply for the West Bengal Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme

• You can download the application form from the official site and take a printout of it.

• Or, you can collect the form from the following places.
  • Office of the Block Development Officer.
  • Office of the Sub Divisional Officer.
  • Office of the Kolkata Municipal Commissioner.
• Fill up the application form, and attach the required documents.
• Then, please submit it to the following office where you got the application form.
• The Department of Information & Cultural Affairs officials will check your application and the documents.
• After successful verification, the beneficiaries will get monthly financial assistance to their bank account.
