The West Bengal government introduced the Gatidhara Scheme in August 2014. Families with a monthly income of Rs 25,000 or less are eligible for financial assistance under the initiative. The scheme’s goal is to create self-employment opportunities in the state’s urban and rural areas by promoting transportation services. This initiative has helped West Bengal’s young with food security and helped to improve the state’s transportation system.
Under the scheme, the West Bengal state government offers a 30% discount for the purchase of commercial cars under this program. The buyer may take out loans from several institutions to repay the remaining balance. The Gatidhara initiative provides financial help in the form of a loan, which is approved by all Nationalized Banks, Co-operative Banks, and Grameen Banks. Under this initiative, the project cost for the acquisition of a small and medium vehicle shall not exceed Rs.10,000,000.

– Download the application form, affidavit, and income certificate. – Then, take a printout of every PDF file and fill it up carefully. – Attach all the required documents. – Submit them to the office of the Joint Director of Employment Kolkata District in the case of the Kolkata municipal corporation area or to the respective sub-divisional officer (SDO). – Choose a lender for the loan necessary to purchase a car. – The vehicle would registered within one month of receiving the permit and subsidy offer letter from the scheme. – The “Gatidhara Scheme” is facilitated by authorized vehicle dealers.
After the entrepreneur’s contribution and the subsidy are received, the loan will be disbursed within 15 days.
