West Bengal Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana Scheme
Earlier known as Samajik Suraksha Yojana (SSY 2017), the Government of West Bengal renamed the scheme 1st of April 2020 name to Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana. The scheme provides coverage for all qualified unorganized workers by the approved list of unorganized industries (46), self-employed vocations (15), and construction and transportation workers as notified periodically by the West Bengal government’s Labour Department.
The state government has decided to skip the beneficiary contribution of Rs. 25 per month towards provident fund subscription payment to further support the enrolled beneficiaries. Beginning on April 1, 2020, the WB government has chosen to pay the whole amount on behalf of the beneficiaries. Even after the rename, every beneficiary who has signed up is eligible to get all benefits without having to pay a cent.

Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana Benefits
The principal objective of the implementation of the Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana is to provide social security benefits to West Bengali citizens employed in unorganized sectors. The goal of this program is to enable them to live better lives. The program functions as a Provident Fund, and participants must pay Rs. 25 every month.
Another goal of this yojana is to provide the people of West Bengal with various services and amenities. When they are not receiving financial support, this support enables them to deal with unforeseen circumstances in life. Hospitalization costs, unintentional costs, and job support in the event of job loss are all covered by the plan.

- The candidate needs to be a West Bengali resident.

- The applicant’s age should range from 18 to 60 years old.
- The applicant’s family income cannot be more than ₹ 6500 per month.

- Click on “New Registration” on the homepage.

Offline Method

- Take a printout of the form, and fill it up with all the details carefully.
- After that, attach all the required document copies with self-attested.
- Then, submit all the papers to the District Office of the Department of Labour.
Online Method
- Visit the official site, and log in with your username and password.
- After login, you will get the “Apply” option.
- Fill out the Application Form according to the category of beneficiary.
- Next, upload all the required documents and click on the “Preview” option.
- Click the “Submit” option after checking and finding all good.
- Thus, the applicant can apply for the BMSSY scheme.
Financial Assistance to the Beneficiaries
The beneficiary will receive the Provident Fund Facility without having to pay a premium. On the other hand, in the event of an accident leading to a worker’s disability or death, the West Bengal government will offer financial support ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 2,00,000.

Under the initiative, beneficiaries would also receive up to Rs. 20,000 for illness treatment, up to Rs. 60,000 for surgery of any sort, and up to Rs. 10,000 for lost wages as a result of hospitalization.

Additionally, there is a clause that provides financial support for the education of children of unorganized workers. Under this scheme, children would receive financial assistance for their education ranging from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 30,000 per year, depending on their study category.
