About PMEGP Scheme
Interested youths of the country who want to obtain a loan from the central government to begin their careers, must apply for the PMEGP Loan Scheme. The applicant must be at least 18 years old to apply for the scheme and start his own business. Any institution registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 is eligible for PMEGP assistance. The objective of the PMEGP Scheme
As you are all aware, both urban and rural areas experience a high rate of unemployment. The government launched the PMEGP scheme to give employment opportunities to unemployed citizens. All unemployed citizens who want to start their businesses will get loans under this plan. The citizens of the nation will become more independent while the unemployment rate will drop.
Extension of PMEGP Yojana by the Government
The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program will run from 2025 – 2026 year. which the government will spend Rs. 13554.42 crores. The government gave this information on May 30, 2022. According to the Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, an additional 40 lakh citizens will have employment opportunities thanks to the expansion of this scheme. The primary objective is to give young people employment opportunities.
The Central Government has also modified this scheme in some other ways. The maximum project costs for manufacturing units will rise from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh and for service units from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. Transgender will also get benefits under this scheme in a different category.
Parameters of the PMEGP Yojana

- Unemployment in the State
- Lack of traditional skills and raw materials
- The government will award 75 projects in each district.
- Subsidies will be increased for women, SC, ST, OBC, physically disabled, and NER applicants.

Subsidy Given in Pradhan Mantri Employment Scheme
- The Government will give a 25% subsidy to start an industry in the rural department and a 15% subsidy to start an industry in the urban department to the unemployed youth of the open category. And, the rest 10% you have to pay.
- The Government will give a 35% subsidy for starting industry in the rural department and a 25% subsidy for starting industry in the urban department to the ex-serviceman of special categories like SC, ST, and OBC. And, you need to pay only 5% money.

Benefits of the PMEGP Scheme
- The central government will provide loans ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh to unemployed youth in the country under this scheme.

Application Process for Pradhan Mantri Employment Scheme
Those who are interested in applying for the Prime Minister Employment Generation Program Scheme should follow the below-given steps.
- Go to the official website, and click on the “PMEGP” option.
- On the next page, click the “PMEGP Portal” option.
- Nest, select the “Online Application Form” for Individual.
- In the registration form, enter your Aadhaar card number, name, state, district, gender, qualification, mobile number, email, pan card number, date of birth, address, and other information.
- After that, click the “Save Applicant Data” button.
- Then, print your form and return it to the KVIC / KVIB / DIC where you applied for the loan.
- If your project gets selected, it will be forwarded to the bank. And, you need to submit all the necessary documents at the bank.
- The bank will process the application and inspect the project location before sanctioning the loan.
- Attend EDP Training, you need to submit an EDP training certificate to KVIC/KVIB/DIC and Bank. The government will transfer your subsidy to the bank.
Individual Online Application Procedure in PMEGP Scheme
- Go to the official website of PMEGP.
- After that, select “Online Application Form for Individuals.”
- On the form, fill up all of the information requested, such as Aadhaar Number, Applicant Name, Agency, State, District, and so on.
- Now, select the “Save Applicant Data” option to complete the application.
Non-Individual Online Application Procedure in PMEGP Scheme
- Visit the PMEGP’s official website.
- On the home page, click the link for “Non-Individual Online Application Form.”
- There you have to select your category.
- After that, the application form will appear.
- Fill out all of the required information and upload all the necessary documents.
- Now, press the “Submit” button.
