Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme 2022
The Chief Minister earlier introduced the Telangana Aasara pension plan in 2014 to offer pensions to all citizens, including widows and HIV sufferers, so they could support their families and live happy lives. To ensure that all participants of the Telangana Aasara Scheme receive additional benefits, the scheme has been renewed and the pension amount enhanced. They will no longer be required to work because they are unwell.

Benefits of the Telangana Aasara Pension Scheme
One of the key advantages of the Telangana Aasara Pension Yojana is the availability of financial money that will be distributed to old, disabled, HIV patients and single women. As we all know, many individuals in our nation are very sick and are unable to work due to their illnesses.
Thus, many people would be able to provide for their families through the implementation of this scheme even without going out and working. The Aasara Pension provides several advantages to all scheme beneficiaries.
Socio Economic Criteria for Aasara Pension Yojana
People who live in homes that meet one or more of the following criteria are unable to receive a social security pension:
- Owners of light or heavy vehicles (four-wheelers and big vehicles)
- Already receiving a pension from another government program or a freedom warrior pension?
- Having a vast commercial enterprise
- Having physicians, contractors, professionals, and self-employed children.
- Any other criterion that the verification officer may examine based on the household’s lifestyle, career, and profession that renders the household ineligible
- Having more than 3 acres of wet/irrigated dry land or 7.5 acres of dry land
- Having children who work for the government/public sector/private sector/are outsourced/contract
Families under socio-economic requirements and belonging to the mentioned age category must be taken into account for inclusion and, if they are not on the exclusion list, eligibility for pension:
- Tribal tribes that are primitive and susceptible
- Women-headed families with no earning members
- Do people with disabilities live in households?
- Only one family member will get a disability or window pension per home.
- Households who are homeless
- Households that live in temporary informal structures or huts, often in cities.
- Those families headed by widows or terminally ill/disabled/over 65-year-olds with no source of income
- Landless agricultural labourers
- Rural artists and craftspeople

- People who earn a living in the informal sector daily

Aasara Pension for 57 to 65 Years Old
As you are all aware, the Telangana government offers the TS Aasara pension to anyone over the age of 65. Telangana’s Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, pledged during the 2018 election campaign to make this program’s benefits available to everyone aged 57 to 65.
The Department of Rural Development’s Society of Eliminating Rural Poverty is accepting applications from all qualified applicants. This program is open to anybody who will be 57 years old on the application submission date.
Identification of Eligible Persons for the Scheme
- The gram panchayat secretary/village revenue officer in the rural region and the bill collector in the urban area will both receive the application.
- The applications must be verified by and certified by the aforementioned officials.
- The appointed Mandal Parishad Development Officer, municipal commissioner, deputy, and zonal commissioner shall carry out the scrutinizing process and grant the pension by the rules that are periodically provided to them.
- In addition to guaranteeing fairness among different social groupings like scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, backward class, etc.
- If anybody presented false information to get a pension, disciplinary action will be taken, and the money granted to them will be repaid.
Administration of Telangana Aasara Pension
- All district collectors, the CEO, and the SERP will be responsible for bringing this plan live.
- Changes to the database or procedures must follow a rigid protocol unless authorized by the government.
- Data security must be guaranteed.
- Authorized modification requests can be made after receiving approval from the appropriate authorities.
- After receiving a documented modification request from the authorized officer, the software vendor is allowed to make changes.
- The management information system report will be provided on the official website, which will be open to the public.
- The administrative cost for implementing TS Aasara pensions cannot exceed 3% of the money expended.
Revised Pension Amount of the Scheme

Eligibility Criteria of Pension Scheme
Under the Telangana Aasara pension Scheme for 2022, certain qualifying requirements have been determined for various groups of beneficiaries:
Eligibility Criteria of Old-Aged People
- The age should be at least 65 years old.
- The candidate must be from a primitive or vulnerable tribal group.
- Only one pensioner per household, ideally a woman, is eligible.
- Landless agriculture laborers, rural artisans/craftsmen, slum dwellers, and persons earning a living in the informal sector such as porters, coolies, rickshaw pullers, hand cart pullers, fruit/flower sellers, snake charmers, rag pickers, cobblers, destitute, and other similar categories, whether in rural or urban areas, are also eligible.
- Homeless and houseless households living in temporary informal facilities or huts, particularly in metropolitan areas, are eligible.
- Households headed by widows or terminally ill/disabled people/people aged 65 or older with no guaranteed means of sustenance or societal assistance are also eligible.
For Widow
- The widow must be over 18 years of age.
- The candidate must come from a primitive and vulnerable tribe.
Eligibility Criteria for Weaver
- The weaver’s age must be beyond 50.
- The candidate must be from a primitive or vulnerable tribe.
- A household can only receive one pension.
- A person’s occupation, whether rural or urban, should be weaving.
Eligibility Criteria of Toddy Tappers
- The applicant’s age must be over 50.
- The candidate must be from a primitive or vulnerable tribe.
- The person’s occupation should be Toddy Tapping, regardless of whether they live in rural or urban locations.
- Toddy tapper pensions need confirmation that the beneficiary is a registered member of the Toddy Tappers Co-Operative Society.
For Disabled person
- Anyone of any age can apply for the scheme.
- The candidate must be from a primitive or vulnerable tribal group.
