Overview of the Scheme

 Eligibility Criteria for Applying to CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme

The applicant must fulfill the following eligibility criteria for applying for this scholarship for the first time and the renewal process of the single girl child scholarship.

For the First Time

• All Single Girl Students must have a minimum of 60% or more marks in CBSE Class X
• Must study Class XI & XII in CBSE affiliated school where tuition fees shouldn’t more than Rs. 1,500/- per month for an academic year. In the next two years, the tuition fees shouldn’t increase more than 10% of the charged fee.
• NRI applicants of the CBSE Board are also eligible.
• The tuition fee has been set at a maximum of Rs. 6,000/- per month for the NRIs.
• The scholarship will be only for Indian Nationals.
• The applicant must continue her studies in Class XI and XII in CBSE affiliated school.
• Even the CBSE Class X pass-out candidates will be applicable.
• Besides availing of this scholarship, the scholar can get other concessions given by the school for her study.

For Renewal Process

• The applicant must have the received CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship last year.
• The student should be studying in CBSE affiliated school and secure min. 60% or more marks in Class XI and promoted to class XII.
• During the Academic year, the tuition fees shouldn’t exceed Rs. 1,500/- per month for Class X.
• The total enhancement of tuition fees shouldn’t increase more than 10% of the charged fee in the next two years.

Benefits of the Scheme

 Duration for the Scheme

The applicant must follow the rules for renewal and the duration of the scholarship.

• The Scholarship will be renewed after completion of class XI.
• Renewal depends on the secured score of 60% and more marks in the examination for promotion to the next class.
• The continuation or renewal of the scholarship of a scholar depends on the approval of the Board on the basis of courses of study or she changes the school or course of study.
• Regular attendance is also required for the continuation of this scholarship scheme.
• The Board decision will be final and binds all the matters.
• If the scholarship is cancelled by any circumstances, it can’t be renewed.

Selection Criteria

The applicants have to follow the selection procedure for applying for this scholarship.

• The student must pass Class X Examination from the CBSE board and secure min. 60% or more marks.
• The students have to study Class XI and XII from CBSE affiliated Schools.
• Students (girls) should be SINGLE CHILD of their parents.
• Original Affidavit duly attested by the First-Class Judicial Magistrate/Executive Magistrate/Notary/SDM as per the given format on the website of the Board.
• Xerox copy of Affidavit will not be accepted.
• The documents should be attested by the Principal of the school from where the student is pursuing Class XI.
• The tuition fee shouldn’t exceed Rs. 1500/- per month in Class X and max. 10% enhancement is acceptable for Class XI & XII.

Documents Required for Applying to CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme

The following documents are required for applying for this scholarship.

• Income certificate
• Caste certificate
• Proof of admission
• Bank account details
• Fee structure detail
• Passport size photographs
• Scanned signature
• Identification cards for students
• Marksheet of class 11th for renewal of the scholarship
• Aadhar Card linked with the bank account
• A copy of the bank passbook
• An affidavit on 50 rupees stamps paper from the parents assisted by the first-class magistrate or Gazette officer or SDM, mentioning that the girl children are the single child in the family.

Application Procedure of CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme

Follow the given steps to apply for this scholarship scheme.

• First, go to the official website of the scholarship.

• You can download the guidelines of the scholarship scheme.
• If you are a new applicant, click on “SGC-X – Fresh Application” for your scholarship.

• For renewing your application, click on “SGC-X – Renewal”

• Enter your “Roll Number” and “Date of Birth”
• And, click on “Proceed”
• For renewal, click on “Upload Documents” to upload your Class X merit scholarship.

• Go to the “Print the Confirmation Page” option and generate the confirmation page.
• Applicants who successfully applied and completed the application form will only be able to generate the confirmation page.
• New applicants need not send the confirmation page to CBSE. They can keep it for their reference of successful application.
• In case of renewal, take a printout of the online application form and sent it to the “ASSISTANT SECRETARY (SCHOLARSHIP), CBSE, SHIKSHA KENDRA, 2 COMMUNITY CENTRE, PREET VIHAR, DELHI 110 092” along with documents, and write on the envelope “APPLICATION FOR CBSE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FOR SGC X (RENEWAL-2022)”

View Application Status

• Visit the Official Website of CBSE
• Now, click on the “छात्रवृत्ति” option.
• Next, click on the “Application Status” option on the appeared page.

• Enter the “Roll Number”, “Date of Birth”, and “Year of Passing” on the screen.
• Now click on the “Proceed” option.
