The government of West Bengal has introduced special grants for economically backward students. Through that project, a certain amount of money is given to the students for higher education. The project has been named Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme(V4.0) 2022.

The project has been implemented so that the economic situation does not become an obstacle in the way of education. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship is one of the other education scholarship programs in the state.

Since this scholarship is given for higher education, the students will get this scholarship from the 10th grade onwards. And the amount of money for different levels is also different.

Eligibility Criteria applying for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship

There are certain criteria to apply to Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Scheme. These are the following-

The permanent resident of West Bengal state are eligible for this scheme
The annual income of the applicant’s family must be under Rs. 250000
Students who have secured at least 60% marks in the state board examination
The applicant must be a state board or State College/University

Required Documents

You can apply for this scholarship online. The information required to apply online is-

Secondary or equivalent examination mark sheet
Latest board exam, college, council, or university exam mark sheet
Family income certificate needs to be issued by Joint BDO / BDO (Rural Area) / Executive Officer (Municipality) / Deputy Commissioner ((Corporation)) / Gazetted Officer in Group
Aadhaar ID / Voter ID / Ration Card / Certificate issued by the concerned authority as an age certificate
Scanned copy of the first page of the bank side book with the effective current account number and IFS code.

The Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Scheme was launched by the West Bengal government for the state board students.
The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial support to merit students.

The process to Apply Online For Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme

On the home page find the register option and click on this
Then you need to click on proceed for registration
The registration form will appear on the screen
Next enter the required details of yours
A 15 digits applicant ID will generate for the candidate after registration
Then login with the generated Applicant ID and Password on the homepage
Give the right Captcha Code.
Then, fill up the rest of the application forms.
Upload the Image and Signature by maintaining the following sizes-
- Image & Signature Format– JPG/JPE
- Size of Image & Signature – 10KB-20KB
Upload the required documents
Click on the “Submit Application” option to complete the application process.

Selection Process

At first, the online applications are the sorted basis on merit.
They are sorted initially based on the marks secured and the family income criteria of the student.
Then, the merit list will be generated accordingly.
The merit list will be generated based on the availability of all documents submitted by the candidates
At last, the scholarship amount will be disbursed in their respective accounts.

Renewal process

Every year renewal is important otherwise the scholarship amount will not disburse. Only when the authority will ensure that you are continuing your study will provide incentives. The process is very simple. You just have to log in to your account from the official website. And you have to upload the previous year’s semester mark sheets or yearly mark sheets in the Renewal Application section. The selection process will continue like before again and after a few months, the amount will disburse.
