West Bengal Rupashree Scheme ( রূপশ্রী প্রকল্প ) 2022: West Bengal govt. has released the application forms and any girl can apply for Rupashree Prakalpa. This scheme will help low-income families who borrow a massive sum of interest for the marriage of daughters. Around 6 lakh girls being helped by this scheme, who are belonging to economically weaker families with a total outlay of Rs. 1500 crore.

West Bengal Govt started Kanyashree Prokolpo, Yuvashree, Sabuj Sathi, and other public schemes. This time West Bengal government extended a helping hand in the marriage of the girls of low-income families. On 31st January 2018, the Finance Minister of West Bengal announced a one-time grant of Rs. 25000.

Purpose of Rupashree Prakalpa

The purpose of the Rupashree Scheme is to provide a grant of Rs. 25000 for poor families, who face many problems due to financial issues during the marriage of their daughters.

This Scheme has started, so those needy hands do not have to borrow from anyone at higher interest rates.

Eligibility Criteria of Rupashree Prakalpa

  • The girl must be 18 years old and unmarried on the date of submitting her application.
  • The proposed marriage is her first marriage.
  • She should be a resident of West Bengal for the last 5 years.
  • Her family income should not exceed Rs. 1.50 lakhs per annum.
  • Her prospective groom is to be 21 years old.
  • She has an active bank account and the bank account must be in a bank that has an IFSC Code and a MICR code and transacts payments through NEFT.

  • Rupashree Prakalpa aims to minimize the difficulties of poor families while marrying their daughters. 
  • This Scheme is determined to improve the health conditions of girls, to reduce the risk of early pregnancies, child, and mortal maternal mortality rate. 
  • Assistance to fair better in economic and social spheres.
  • This scheme is beneficial to girls over 18 years, in that case, girls don’t have to leave their studies and get married before 18. 
  • Financial inclusion and empowerment of adolescent girls.

  • Rupashree Scheme will bring a reduction in Child Marriage.
  • This scheme will reduce the burden of marriage expenses of parents of girl children by giving one-time assistance for the marriage of their daughters.
  • All such schemes like Kanyashree, and Rupashree will increase the education rate of the girl child.
  • WB govt. has made a budgetary allocation of Rs. 1500 crore for this scheme.
  • The benefit is one time and the amount is Rs. 25000.

Required Documents for Applying Rupashree Scheme:

  1. Self-attested photocopy of any one of the following: Birth Certificate / PAN Card / Voter ID card / Madhyamik Admits card / Primary School Leaving Certificate / AADHAR card as proof of applicant’s age.
  2. Self-declaration on the application form of never-married status.
  3. Self-declaration certified by a Competent Authority of proof of residence
  4. Self-declaration certified by a Competent Authority of annual family income.
  5. Self-attested photocopy of the page of the bank passbook (details of the account holder’s name, account no., bank address, IFSC code, and other details).
  6. Marriage Invitation Card / Notice for Registration of Marriage as proposed marriage proof
  7. Birth Certificate / PAN Card / Voter ID card / Madhyamik Admit card / Primary School Leaving Certificate / AADHAR card (attested by prospective spouse) as proof of groom’s age
  8. Recent coloured passport-size photographs of the applicant and the prospective groom

After attaching the documents, submit the completed application form to the BDO, SDO, or Municipality Office. 

Rupashree Scheme – Conditional Cash Transfer Mechanism

This scheme will transform the lives of children and adolescents through a conditional cash transfer mechanism that involves 2 components:-

  1. Annual Incentive – Govt. is providing an annual incentive of Rs. 1000/- (previously Rs. 750) to girls in the age group of 13 to 18 years studying in various schools. However, the pre-condition is that the girl is unmarried at that particular time.
  2. One Time Grant – West Bengal govt. will provide a time grant of Rs. 25000/- at the time of their marriage. For being eligible the family income of the girls from all sources must not exceed Rs. 1.5 lakh p.a.

Tracking Application Status Online 

  • There will be an Enquiry Officer, who will conduct a field verification and submit an inquiry report of each application
  • After successfully verifying all applications, the BDO/ SDO/Commissioner shall sanction them and reject others, which have a negative report or are ineligible 
  • The rejected application must need to be informed about such rejection. The Drawing and Disbursing Officer will transfer the sanctioned or granted money to the beneficiary’s bank account. And now you can do this all online and the website is https://wbrupashree.gov.in/admin/Login/ 

Selection Process of Rupashree Scheme Application

  • First, you need to collect the Rupashree scheme Application Form from BDO, SDO, or Municipality Office or download the form online and fill it out correctly. 
  • Attach the required documents with the application form and submit them to the following office. 
  • For verification, an Enquiry Officer may visit the Applicant’s house. After Successful verification, the officer will pass the application form.

Selected applicants will receive the Rupashree Scheme amount directly in their Bank account one week after their marriage.

Checking the Beneficiary list

  • Visit the official website of the Rupashree Scheme: https://wbrupashree.gov.in/admin/Login/  
  • Click on the beneficiary search on the homepage.
  • Give application ID and application year.
  • After filling in the same click on submit button. The list of beneficiaries will appear on the screen.
  • The applicant can download the list in the format of PDF by clicking on the download button available on the home page.

Check Rupashree’s Payment Status 

Those candidates, who are selected can check their Rupashree Scheme payment status online. With your Rupashree ID number and Year of Application, you can check your expected payment date for the Rupashree Scheme amount online.

  • Visit the official website of the West Bengal Rupashree Online Portal: https://wbrupashree.gov.in/admin/Login/   
  • Now, click on the Track Application option
  • Enter the information and submit
  • Then, you can easily check your expected payment dates for the Rupashree Scheme amount.

Who can apply to the Rupashree Scheme?
