People can apply for smart ration cards to use the state government’s numerous online (digital) services. The new Digital ration card has the family head’s photo, address, and name. Objective of the Smart Ration Card

The main goals of the smart ration card project are to remove inefficiencies in beneficiary targeting. It increases the provision of food grains and other essentials to vulnerable sections in society at acceptable (subsidized) pricing. Eligibility Criteria for Applying

  • In the IRDP for 1997–98, families with yearly incomes of up to Rs. 15,000 were recorded.
  • There shouldn’t be any family members that hold professional licenses like chartered accountants, doctors, or lawyers.
  • The family shouldn’t have a residential phone or a four-wheeler.
  • The family members cannot be income, GST, or professional taxpayers, or otherwise eligible to pay such taxes. (Acquire additional tax filing expertise)
  • The family should not possess more than two hectares of rain-fed land, one hectare of semi-irrigated land, or half a hectare of irrigated land.
  • All Vidi employees, Pardhi residents, and Kolhati members will temporarily receive BPL Ration Cards according to a government agreement.

How to Apply for Maharashtra Smart Ration Card?

  • Visit the official website and select the “Maharashtra Smart Ration Card Application” option.
  • Download the application form that appears on the screen and take a printout of it.
  • Now, complete the form with all the necessary information.
  • After that, include the form along with any necessary documents.
  • Finally, hand the form into the appropriate officials.
  • The normal processing time for a Smart Ration Card application is one to two months.
  • Although the process could take longer if there are many applications, the government fairly and thoroughly reviews each one to minimize errors or denials.

Tricolour Smart Ration Cards

Under Tricolor Smart Ration Cards, the Maharashtra government provides the Smart Ration Card of three different colors: yellow, saffron, and white, depending on a set of conditions.

  • Yellow Ration Card – Only households who are considered to be below the poverty line (BPL) are given Yellow Ration Cards.
  • Saffron Ration Card – Families having annual incomes of more than Rs. 15,000 but less than Rs. 1 lakh are eligible Saffron Ration Cards.
  • White Ration Card – Families with a yearly income of at least Rs. 1 lakh are eligible for white ration cards.

  • Visit the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection of Maharashtra’s official website.
  • On the screen, select the Allocation Generation Status link from the Transparency Portal and then click.
  • A new page will open where you need to enter your ration card information.
  • After that, click the Proceed button to find out how your application is progressing.
