Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) 2023
Soil Health Scheme has initiated the Traditional Agriculture Development Scheme. Farmers are encouraged to practice organic farming under this program. The government provides financial help in this regard. This initiative will use both contemporary science and traditional knowledge to build a sustainable form of organic farming.
The primary goal of the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana 2023 is to improve soil fertility. This method provides financial aid for marketing, value addition, import incentives, cluster formation, and capacity building. This project was launched in 2015-16 to promote chemical-free organic farming in clusters.
Financial Support
Under this initiative, farmers receive incentives, cluster creation, capacity building, value addition, and marketing support for ₹ 50,000 per hectare for three years. Organic fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, and other relevant materials will cost approximately ₹31,000 per hectare. In addition, value addition and marketing are allocated ₹8800 per hectare for three years.
Through the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana 2023, ₹1197 crore has been spent over the past four years. The Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana offers ₹ 3000 per hectare of financial support for three years, to foster cluster formation and capacity building. It includes training field staff and exposure visits. The farmers’ accounts receive a direct benefit transfer of this sum.

Each cluster will receive financial support under this initiative totalling Rs 14.95 lakh for mobilization, manure management, and PGS certificate acceptance. A cluster of 50 acres or 20 hectares will receive up to ₹1000000 in financial support. For the sake of biological nitrogen storage and manure management, each farmer will receive up to ₹ 50,000 per acre.
Additionally, the implementing agency would receive Rs. 4.95 lakh per cluster from the overall support to mobilize and adopt PGS certification and quality control.
Model Organic Clustered Demonstration
To encourage young people in rural areas, farmers, consumers, and dealers to engage in organic farming, a model organic class study demonstration will raise awareness of contemporary organic farming processes. The Traditional Agriculture Development Scheme will be used to put this awareness into action.
The National Center for Organic Farming, the Participatory Guarantee System, Registered Regional Councils, and other DACs and FW public sector institutions will be in charge of implementing this plan. Under this scheme, scientific and specialized personnel will organize demonstrations. To improve the implementation of this plan, a project demonstration team will also be established in addition to this.
Model Organic Farm under the scheme
Model Organic Farm will convert traditional land into a one-hectare organic farming system. Aside from that, farmers will get information on numerous new technologies. So that, they can practice organic gardening. A maximum of three models will be assigned to each company over a minimum of one year.
