Multidimensional Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY)

These subschemes are also elaborated under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries’ multifarious Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana.

Mega Food Park Scheme

By uniting farmers, processors, and retailers, this scheme will provide a means of connecting agricultural production to the market to boost farmers’ incomes and generate jobs in rural areas. The cluster approach is the foundation of the plan. The supply chain infrastructure in the Mega Food Park includes cold chain, primary and central processing centers, collection centers, and roughly 25 to 30 fully developed plots for food processing units owned by entrepreneurs.

Cold Chain Scheme

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana’s cold chain scheme will offer integrated cold chain and preservation infrastructure facilities. in order for customers to continuously receive integrated services from Form Gate. Building infrastructure facilities is part of the project’s work along the whole supply chain.

To facilitate the distribution of horticultural, organic, dairy, and other products, including meat and poultry – the scheme includes pre-cooling, weighing, sorting, grading, and waxing facilities at the form level, as well as multi-product cold storage, packing facilities, blast freezing at distribution hubs, and mobile cooling units. This project pays special attention to the development of cold chain infrastructure at the farm level.

Enhancement/Expansion of Food Processing/Preservation Capacity

Building processing and preservation capacities to raise the processing level is the primary goal of this project to expand and modernize the current food processing facilities. Through this project, farmers will also receive various measures to increase the shelf life of their produce, and the processing operations of the various units will increase the shelf life of the product after harvest. The quality of the finished product will increase as a result of this project. In addition, this scheme covers the creation of new units as well as the renovation and growth of current ones.

Agro Processing Cluster

This project will develop common facilities and modern infrastructure. To establish food processing units based on the cluster approach, the group of entrepreneurs will connected to the producers, farmers, and processors via a chain with contemporary infrastructure.

The government has incorporated two elements into this project: enabling infrastructure and a minimum investment of ₹25 crore in a minimum of five compost processing units. Agro Processing Cluster facilitates the establishment of units and the development of shared infrastructure. For 50 years, at least 10 acres of land should be set aside for the establishment.

Plan to Create Backward and Forward Linkages

Due to the project’s ability to bridge supply chain gaps in material availability and market linkages, the processing industry will benefit from effective backward and forward integration. The government provides financial support for the establishment of a primary processing/collection center at the farm gate, contemporary retail stores at the front end, and connectivity via insulator/refrigerator transport.

The scheme will cover perishable agricultural and horticultural goods, such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat, poultry, fish, compost producers that are ready to cook, honey, coconut, spices, mushrooms, and so on. This program will guarantee farmers fair prices and show to be successful in bringing farmers and processors together.

Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure

Food safety and quality assurance are the main goals of this project. Through this project, the food processing industry in the nation will grow overall, comprising quality systems, quality assurance, and quality control. Along with this, this project will also involve work in the interests of public health and consumer safety. The market-sold goods will be guaranteed to be of high quality and to adhere to the established standards by means of this scheme.
