Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme 2023

Financial assistance will be provided to 82,000 students through the Pradhan Mantri Scholarship (PMSS), which will be divided equally between 41 thousand boys and 41 thousand girls. Every year, successful students from across the country will be awarded scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria for Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme

PM Scholarships are available at various levels, with a focus on the PM Scholarship for 12th-grade students. You must meet certain eligibility criteria if you apply for a PM Scholarship for class 10th students, or a PM Scholarship for engineering students, or a PM Scholarship for a PhD. The eligibility requirements for the Pradhan Mantri Scholarship 2023 are stated.

  • The applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • Applicants must be legal residents of India.
  • Applicants must be the children of Class 11 and Class 12 students.
  • Must have obtained 60% or higher in their 10+2/ diploma/ graduation
  • Have enrolled in the first year of a UG course (except lateral entry & integrated course)
  • Applicants must come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

In-Eligible Conditions for Applying for the Scholarship 2023

  • Any student enrolled in a Master’s Degree is ineligible.
  • Any student who is currently employed or serving in any capacity is ineligible.
  • The international student.
  • Students enrolled in distance learning are not eligible.
  • The Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme 2023 has already attracted applicants.
  • If the selected student changes courses/colleges and is re-admitted in the same academic year, his/her application will be rejected.

How to Apply for the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme?

Visit the official website and follow the given steps to apply for the scholarship whether you are new or old.

For new users

  • Click on “Registration”
  • Fill out the form with all of your information.
  • Upload only the applicant’s photo in JPEG/ JPG/ GIF/ PNG format.
  • Fill out the captcha at the end.
  • After entering the necessary information, click Submit.

For Renewals

  • Log in using the username and password you created (PMSS Login)
  • To apply for the scholarship, complete the application process.
  • All required documents must be scanned and uploaded.
  • Fill out the application form and submit it.

Documents Required for the Scholarship

  • The candidate needs to submit a scanned copy of the Bonafide Certificate signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Principal, Vice-Principal, Dean, Associate Dean, Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Director, or Director of the Institute or College by Annexure-2.
  • The bank’s certification that the student’s Aadhaar card is connected to his or her bank account number in accordance with Annexure-3 (Original to be scanned and uploaded)
  • The candidate has to submit a scanned copy of his/her matriculation certificate for confirming the birth date
  • Minimum Educational Requirement (MEQ) certificate, if applicable (10+2 Marksheet, Graduation (Marksheets of 3 Years, All Semesters), or Diploma (mark sheets of all semesters).
  • Either submit the first page of the bank passbook (preferably PNB or SBI) or a cancelled check that clearly displays the candidate’s name and account number.
  • Ex-Serviceman/ex-Coast Guard certificate authorized by ZSB/Coast Guard HQ in accordance with Annexure 1 (Original to be scanned and uploaded)

Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme Benefits

  • Boys will receive a monthly scholarship of INR 2,500, while girls will receive a monthly scholarship of INR 3,000.
  • A total of 5,500 scholarships will be distributed to the wards/widows of ex-servicemen, equally divided between boys and girls.
  • The scholarships are split equally between boys and girls, each receiving Rs. 2,750.
  • Scholarships are awarded for one to five years, depending on the duration of the courses approved by the relevant regulatory bodies.
  • The scholarship amount is paid to the chosen students on an annual basis.

Payment Procedure

  • The students will get scholarships via Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) and Aadhar Payment Bridge. The funds will deposit directly into the students’ bank accounts.
  • The scholarship will be terminated if you fail or are unable to achieve marks equal to or greater than 50%.
  • The bank details, including the bank account number of the nationalized bank linked with the Aadhaar Card, must be submitted.

Terms & Conditions of the PM Scholarship Scheme

  • Certificate signed by the Vice-Chancellor/ Dean/ Principal/ Vice Principal/ Registrar/ Associate Dean/ Deputy Registrar/ Director/ Deputy Director stating the seeding of the Aadhar Card with the student’s Bank account.
  • As proof of date of birth, use a class 10th-grade mark sheet.
  • Complete mark sheets for any obtained Class 12/Graduation (3 years)/Diploma (6 semesters) course.
  • A copy of the student’s bank passbook or a cancelled cheque for the account. Certificate of category, if applicable.
  • The Aadhar Card.
  • A self-certificate/affidavit of ESM is also required if the ward is born after the retirement of ESM.
  • All of the above documents must be submitted in PDF/JPEG/JPG format.

The PM scholarship application must be completed entirely online. Offline applications are not accepted.
