West Bengal Karmanjali Scheme

The West Bengal government launched the “Karmanjali Scheme” in 2019. The West Bengal government’s Housing Department is in charge of carrying out this program. The scheme offers low-cost dormitories to any working woman who does not have a place to reside in the city and work in the federal government, state government, government undertaking, or private limited company. Working women should make more money each month than Rs. 5,000.

Applications for dormitory facilities under the Karmanjali Scheme must include a certificate from the employer and a reputable individual known to working women. When the hostel room is open for visits, only female guests are permitted. Overnight stays in the hostel are not permitted for visitors.

When arriving at the hostel, guests must fill out a registration form with their name, address, reason for visit, and duration of stay. Once a working woman reaches 60 years old or retires from the military, she can’t stay at the hostel. The Karmanjali Scheme Application Form is available at both the hostels and the Housing Department’s District Office.
