The National Level String Committee NLSC has made a significant donation to 8220 Gram Panchayats as part of the Atal Ground Water Scheme, India’s central sector water conservation program. The government has now extended the program’s duration by an additional two years, to 2027, from its original 2025 completion date.

Incentive Component

Indicators of disbursement

10% of the incentive fund is set aside for the public disclosure of groundwater data, reports, and information.
Community-led public safety initiatives to be created with a 15% incentive system
Public funding of interventions through current programs will receive a 20% incentive.
40% of the incentive fund is allocated for adopting water-saving practices.
15% of the incentive fund will go toward improving the rate of groundwater level decline.
