The Indian Coast Guard offers a challenging career as an Assistant Commandant (Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers), general duty branch to young, passionate, and dynamic Indian candidates. The Indian Coast Guard has launched a special recruitment drive to find candidates for the 01/2024 BATCH of Assistant Commandants. The application process will begin on January 25th, 2023.

How to Apply for the Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Recruitment

From the 25th of January, applications can apply online. Candidates must complete the “Online” application by logging into the official website.

Visit the official website.
Go ahead and click the “Opportunities” button. Carefully read the instructions before filling out the application form.
Then choose and click on the advertisement for Assistant Commandant- 01/2024 Batch (SRD).
Only one position (Assistant Commandant General Duty) should be applied for.
When you click the ‘I Agree’ button, the ‘Online Application’ will appear, and you can fill it out.
Fill in your information correctly and upload your photograph and signature in the dimensions requested.
All candidates must correctly enter their mobile phone number and email address.
Pay the application fee if any, and continue.
Click on to submit option, and take a printout of the form for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying for this Recruitment

There are several eligibility criteria, candidates need to fulfil. For both branches, the candidate’s age should be in between 20 years to 24 years. Upper age limit relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. Check out the given table.

Selection Procedure of Coast Guard Assistant Commandant

The selection process consists of two stages, the first of which is a medical examination, followed by the preparation of the final merit. Candidates who make the final merit list are hired.

Stage – 1

Shortlisting will be based on bachelor’s degree grades. If more applicants with higher percentages apply, qualifying marks for some branches can be higher than 60%. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to take the preliminary exam.
A preliminary test in English will be administered to candidates to assess their Mental Ability/ Cognitive Aptitude, as well as a Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP & DT). The preliminary test for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant will be objective.

Stage – 2

Candidates who pass the preliminary exam will be invited to the final round of selection. This examination will consist of a psychological test, a group task, and an interview (Personality test).
