West Bengal Samajik Mukti Scheme
West Bengal state government has introduced the Smajik Mukti Scheme. The ‘Chief Minister’ presented the plan to an assembly of workers in the unorganized sector. To add additional labourers to the Welfare program, dividing their earnings among three plans, and utilising the available money well are the objectives of the scheme. Within this scheme, the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs is a nodal department.
For those employed in the state’s unorganized sector, the government has provided the Samajik Mukti Card. A smart card with a photo identity is the Samajik Mukti Card. With the usage of this card, employees have received benefits under three state-run programs.
- Provident fund program for unorganized workers with state assistance (SASPFUW).
- Welfare Scheme for Building and Other Construction Workers.
- Motor Transport Employees’ Welfare Program.
