West Bengal Artisan Old Age Pension Scheme

The West Bengal government launched the artisan pension scheme to provide them with a reliable source of income when they get older. All qualified old-age artisans and weavers in West Bengal would receive a pension of Rs. 1,000/-per month from the West Bengal government. The Jai Bangla Scheme is the parent scheme for all pension plans in West Bengal, including the West Bengal Artisan Old Age Pension Scheme.

Under the Artisan Pension Scheme, artisans who turn 60 years old or older are qualified to receive a monthly stipend. Only registered artisans will receive a monthly pension. By completing an application for the scheme, all eligible artisans can receive a monthly stipend.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying the Scheme

The West Bengal government has set the following eligibility requirements for the Scheme.

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of West Bengal or have lived here for the past 10 years.
  • The artisan should be at least sixty years old.
  • Artisans must register with the appropriate authorities.
  • It is improper for Artisan to receive benefits from any other pension plan.
