West Bengal Weavers Old Age Pension Scheme

The West Bengal government launched the weavers pension scheme to provide them with a reliable source of income when they get older. All qualified old-age weavers and weavers in West Bengal would receive a pension of Rs. 1,000/-per month from the West Bengal government. The Jai Bangla Scheme is the parent scheme for all pension plans in West Bengal, including the West Bengal weavers Old Age Pension Scheme.

Under the Weavers Pension Scheme, weavers who turn 60 years old or older are qualified to receive a monthly stipend. Only registered weavers will receive a monthly pension. By completing an application for the scheme, all eligible weavers can receive a monthly stipend.

The primary goal of the Weavers Old Age Pension Scheme is to provide weavers with a reliable source of income. When weavers reach old age, their income becomes insecure. As a result, the West Bengal government decided to set the monthly income of weavers by giving them a monthly pension.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying the Scheme

The West Bengal government has set the following eligibility requirements for the Scheme.

  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of West Bengal or have lived here for the past 10 years.
  • The weavers should be at least sixty years old.
  • Weavers must register with the appropriate authorities.
  • It is improper for the weaver to receive benefits from any other pension plan.
