PM SHRI Yojana: What is PM SHRI Scheme?

PM Narendra Modi has launched the PM SHRI Yojana. This scheme would renovate 14500 old schools to bring a progressive, revolutionary, and comprehensive approach across India.

There will be a focus on cutting-edge technology, smart education, sports, and contemporary infrastructure. The National Education Policy has altered the educational landscape in recent years, according to the Prime Minister’s tweet. In keeping with NEP, PM Shree Schools will undoubtedly help thousands of kids around India.

This will make the outdated school building presentable, sturdy, and lovely. A PM Shri School will reportedly be built in every block of the nation, and each district will also have access to a secondary and senior secondary school under this program, according to certain reports.

Objectives of this Scheme

The primary goal of the PM SHRI Yojana is to renovate 14,500 old schools in India. Children may be connected to smart education by revamping these schools. The PM Shree schools that have been improved under the PM Shree project will have a taste of all the components of the National Education Policy and will operate as model schools.

Beyond that, he will mentor other schools. These schools will strive to generate individuals who are holistic and well-rounded to meet the skill requirements of the 21st century. Also, the PMO is said to provide high-quality teaching, learning, and cognitive development. The educational system in India will take on a new place by allowing underprivileged students to enrol in smart schools.

Upgradation of 14,500 Schools under PM SHRI Scheme

This scheme will renovate around 14,500 old schools in India. Contemporary infrastructure, smart classrooms, sports, and other modern infrastructure will be focused on the renovation of these historic institutions. All of these schools will be built along the lines of Kendriya Vidyalayas, which will be built across the country.

The state government will be charged with carrying out and overseeing the PM SHRI Yojana, which would see the central government pay for the renovation of 14,500 schools. Children from low-income families will have the opportunity to attend an improved school and receive a solid education under this Yojana.

How PM Shri schools will be Different from Kendriya Vidyalayas / Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas?

Kendriya Vidyalayas / Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is wholly administered by the Ministry of Education at the Centre. The Union government entirely funds them through Central Sector Schemes. While JNVs were created to develop exceptional children in rural regions of the nation, KVs are mostly used to serve the children of Union government employees stationed in states and UTs.

On the other side, PM SHRI schools will be an improvement of current schools run by the Centre, states, UTs, and local governments. This means that PM SHRI schools can be KVs, JNVs, state government schools, or municipal corporations.

Special in PM SHRI Scheme

The upgraded PM Shri schools under the PM SHRI Yojana would be equipped with cutting-edge technology, smart education, and contemporary infrastructure.
All of the elements of the National Education Policy will be on display in PM Shri schools (NEP).
Having classes from pre-primary to 12th standard, these PM Shri schools will also guide other schools.

Where will the PM Shri Schools come up?

The list of schools picked for this purpose has yet to be provided by the Centre. It has been revealed, however, that the PM SHRI schools would also “guide” other schools in the area. These schools will include state-of-the-art facilities such as labs, computer-aided learning environments, libraries, sports facilities, art studios, and other amenities.

Additionally, they will be built as green schools with energy-efficient architecture, water conservation practices, garbage recycling, and curricula including organic living. A centrally sponsored program is one in which the expense of execution is shared 60:40 by the Union government and the states/union territories.
